You Silence

Who is this you I
keep talking to or wanting
to talk to? Who knows?

Not me, not you. The
habit of conversation
is essential

to being. You’d say,
read Vanity Fair; I’d say,
I will. You’d say, ice

cream and bacon don’t
mix. You’d say, Black lives matter.
Feminism must

not give up. I say,
Eros surpasses itself,
the fertile void

releases me to-
wards new communities, new
wonders. I’d tell

you all about it,
but last time you seemed to pre-
fer your own silence.
