As I adapt to
local ways—-the skinny jeans,
the hoodies, beanies
pulled over the ears—-
the unisexual style
of this place, my taste
for Being’s eros,
‘the bite of otherness’ in
what I truly share
with other beings,
deepens in its reserve, and
remains our secret.
