I spent my career
following Emerson, but
imitation is
suicide. So much
for Self-Reliance. Eudai-
monia the goal
now. With bad feet, bad
eyes, a racing heart, nothing sta-
ble, I’m living life
on its own terms. Peak
experiences? Praying to
the God who ‘is’ not
and listening to
her eyes as she tells me a-
bout the new Gaiman.
