With age I’m losing
some of my marbles, but I
waste no time looking

under the bed, or
in the back of desk drawers.
Once I discovered

the socks. It was a shoe lace.
I travel lightly

without passport. I
reread the books on my shelves,
talk with each new self

that replaces the
old ones. I’ve lived this long to
know better, but hey!
