Why I write? I am
unstable, restless, and it
calms me down a bit.
Eros as between
my need and the world’s glory
will not let me be.
Mania won’t do.
As a child I lost myself
in my mother’s Vogue.
Religion? But
I resist the temptation
to shatter old words.
Next door the children
scream and laugh—they are playing
the same games we played.

Keep writing, Tom, for what ever reason. Then others may read it.
