Coronavirus LI (mudflats)

A little winded,
on this bright cold windy day
I sit and look out

over the bay. Low
tide. Mud flats full of white clouds,
darker water be-

yond. In the foreground,
a promise of transcendence,
clouds upside down, near.

I lean back, close my
eyes to the bad infinite

Something other mixed
with the cries of the gulls calls
out undiminished.
