My winter tanka
notebook on infinity
(open, immanent,
whole) includes how rak-
ing sunlight animates a
squirrel in the road—
its soft belly, o-
therwise not moving. Also
notes on clouds (of course),
immense, crystalline,
racing over the village,
going nowhere fast.
