WORK IN PROGRESS
The docks, empty for
another month, hold our gaze.
The girl on the bench
has a book, and I
have the time. We both look on,
encouraged, surprised,
by the sun and wind.
This goes beyond saying. She
returns to her book,
I to the path of
that infinite restlessness
which leaves me in peace.
