WORK IN PROGRESS
Each time I get up
to pee, I open the window:
flakes drift through lamplight.
Today it was clear
and the iridescent ducks
shone in the dark cove.
Poverty and old
age have made things plain to me.
Beauty is for free.
And, Lao Tzu was right:
you pick a fight, and win big,
your winnings crush you.
