“There is nothing absolutely univocal about the aesthetic givenness of the world.” Desmond, The Voiding of Being, 61.
WORK IN PROGRESS
In the luminous
light of early April, pools
of clouds in the cove
compete with the ducks
floating there. I squint and sigh.
I’m all attention.
The clouds reflected,
the ducks simple. Ecstasy
alone lets them be.
“Back to the rough ground!”
Ducks’ days numbered in the cloud-
capped Anthropocene.
